Local Events To Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

Do Not Miss Out On These Family Friendly Festivities

St. Patrick’s Day is a great holiday to gather with friends and family and enjoy a day of celebration centered around good food and drinks. With the emphasis on imbibing pint after pint of Guinness on this day, however, it can be difficult to find family friendly events that give you the chance to celebrate in a way that is appropriate for all ages. To help, here are a few local festivities great for the whole gang.

  • 32nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration: With the name of Dublin, it is no surprise this California city goes all out for the holiday. Grab your green gear and bring the kids down to enjoy their St. Patrick’s Day Celebration from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on March 14th to 15th. There will be three stages featuring Irish music and dance, hundreds of vendors in the Irish marketplace, loads of tasty Irish foods and drinks, and carnival rides great for the whole family. This event is free.
  • 32nd Annual Dublin Lions Club Parade: Kick off your weekend of festivities by watching the great local parade that has been running for over three decades in Dublin, California. Looping near the above celebration, this is a great way to start your day. The parade leaves from Dublin Boulevard and Amador Plaza Road at 9:30 a.m.
  • City of Dublin Shamrock 5K Fun Run and Walk: Celebrate the holiday and serve your kids’ school by getting moving at this certified 5k. The race begins Sunday, March 15th at 8:30 a.m. from 6815 Dublin Boulevard in Dublin, California. The Alameda County Fire Fighters will award cash prizes to the school that has the greatest number of participants when compared to student enrollment.
